Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
4 SWS (3 + 1 SWS)
Course overview
Problems in fluid mechanics are, in most cases, too complex to be solved analytically. Consequently, the numerical simulation of flow problems is becoming increasingly important. This course provides a detailed description of the theory behind the numerical solution of flow problems. The equations and procedures are explained using simplified examples. In the second part of the course, an introduction to the open-source CFD code OpenFOAM is provided, and students are required to solve various examples.
