Modelling of multiphase flows
Fluid Mechanics Module, Master’s programme (MB)
4 contact hours per week
Overview
Students will be able to
- apply the fundamentals of numerical fluid dynamics to mechanical engineering problems
- to select and evaluate computational data and methods for fluid dynamics calculations in accordance with scientific criteria
- to select and evaluate computational data and methods for multiphase fluid mechanics, as well as the associated models, in accordance with scientific criteria
Contents
- Fundamentals of multiphase flow
- Fluid-solid flows (individual particles, bulk solids – fluidised beds and packings, pneumatic conveying)
- Gas-liquid flows (motion of individual bubbles, cavitation, foam formation, pressure loss calculation for multiphase flows)
