The research of Valentin Olbricht is focused on the development of a digital twin model for numerical modelling of the aluminium electrolysis process. The model enables real-time predictions during the Hall-Heroult process with variable power supply. Simulation results and industrial measurement data are directly integrated. The model is developed with Simulink and Matlab software by MathWorks.

This research project is sponsored by the German ministry of education and research under the program "SynErgie - Synchronized and Energy adaptive Production Engineering for flexible Adjustment of Industrial Processes referring to fluctuating Energy Supply", which is a part of the "Industrial processes" Kopernikus projects for energy revolution
