Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
4 SWS (3 + 1 SWS)
Course overview
Problems in fluid mechanics are in most cases too complex to be solved analytically. Therefore, the numerical simulation of flow problems is becoming more and more important. In this course, the theory of the numerical solution of flow problems is described in detail. The equations as well as the procedures are explained using simplified examples. In the second part of the course, an introduction in the open source CFD-code OpenFOAM is given and various examples have to be solved.
