Motivations behind DoFAM
The DoFAM consortium brings together an international network of researchers working on droplet physics and its applications. It brings together specialists with complementary expertise and fosters exchanges between experimental, theoretical and numerical approaches. Its research topics include the dynamics of droplets subjected to vibrations or impacts, droplet oscillations in various applications, contact-line dynamics, complex fluids and condensation phenomena.
By connecting teams working on these related topics, DoFAM aims to foster new collaborations and the development of joint projects, ranging from fundamental research to practical applications. The consortium also places young researchers at the heart of its activities by giving them access to an international network of partners with complementary expertise, know-how and facilities. It aims to facilitate their mobility between laboratories worldwide, enabling them to acquire new skills and develop their own scientific networks.
In this way, DoFAM seeks to help build a dynamic and sustainable scientific community based on knowledge sharing, training and the development of ambitious collaborative projects.
The development of this consortium began with the CNRS’s funding of an
International Emerging Action in 2025.
The consortium currently brings together 12 permanent researchers from six universities in France, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy.
