Motivations of DoFAM

The DoFAM consortium brings together an international network of researchers working on droplet physics and its applications. It unites specialists with complementary expertise and promotes exchanges between experimental, theoretical, and numerical approaches. Its research topics include the dynamics of droplets subjected to vibrations or impacts, droplet oscillations in various applications, contact-line dynamics, complex fluids, and condensation phenomena.

By connecting teams working on these related topics, DoFAM aims to stimulate new collaborations and the development of joint projects, from fundamental research to applications. The consortium also places young researchers at the heart of its activities by giving them access to an international network of partners with complementary expertise, know-how, and facilities. It aims to facilitate their mobility between laboratories worldwide, enabling them to acquire new skills and develop their own scientific networks.

In this way, DoFAM seeks to help build a dynamic and sustainable scientific community based on knowledge sharing, training, and the development of ambitious collaborative projects.

The development of this consortium began through the CNRS funding of an

International Emerging Action in 2025.

The consortium currently brings together 12 permanent researchers from six universities including France, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy.
